Roadless | A 10-Day Expedition Through Wyoming

Roadless qualifies for inclusion here for two main reasons: 1. This expedition is solid type 2 fun. It's fully human-powered, no helicopters, no snowmobiles, no lifts, just sweat and effort. 2. It's a beautiful window to the wilderness which provides a mental boost if you are stuck indoors on a treadmill or similar.

Transport yourself to the Alps with this excellent documentary by Jeff Pelletier detailing his experience in the 2018 Tor des Geants - one of the hardest ultra-marathon races in the world. The views are spectacular and the 200 mile/330 km race has over 79,000 feet/24,000 meters of elevation gain. If you are looking for a change of scene, an inspirational race diary and some amazing POV footage this 44 minute video delivers.

Out There – A Journey to the Barkley Marathons

Documentary film following the journey of ultrarunner Karel Sabbe from his start in the sport through to his experience in the 2019 Barkley Marathons. This story surpassed expectations. Without giving away too much let's just say that Karel is no "hobby jogger." Highly recommended. Check it out next time you need something to watch on the treadmill.
