In February of 2016, British comedian Eddie Izzard embarked on an attempt to run 27 marathons in 27 days through South Africa, as a salute to Nelson Mandela who spent 27 years of his life in prison in his fight against Apartheid. It's an amazing effort and Eddie has raised something in the region of 4million GBP with his marathon running. forum users might complain that he doesn't run the whole thing, there's a lot of walking, but taking all factors into consideration, especially the heat, it's still an incredible and uplifting story of human endurance and willpower. I figure that if Eddie can run consecutive marathons in 100 degrees plus, I can get through a 4 mile recovery run on the treadmill.
