Susie Chan: Overcoming Injury and Rediscovering Ultra | Athletes Unfiltered – Strava Podcast
Susie Chan is a British ultra runner who has finished the Marathon de Sables 4 times, raced all the marathon world majors, Ironman Triathlon, and multiple 100-milers.
In this interview we hear how she got started running later in life. She was a smoker and pub-regular who started out being unable to run a whole mile.
Susie went on to run marathons and ultras including the Marathon de Sables – a self-supported (you carry your gear) ultra run across the Sahara Desert.
She has dealt with injury and illness, most notably a cancer diagnosis which she talks about in the interview.
Recommended for a recovery or long run. The podcast is only 21 minutes though so download another if you are headed out for longer.
