Path to Everest | Kilian Jornet

If you’ve been amazed by Kilian Jornet’s achievements in trail-running, skyrunning, and ski-mountaineering, then you’ll probably be fascinated by this intimate documentary that tells the story of his early years, athletic development, goals and motivation. We learn about Kilian and about the Summits of My Life project culminating in his May 2017 FKT (Fastest Known Time) attempt at Everest.

For those who are new to Kilian Jornet he’s the outstanding mountain-runner/skimo racer of his generation, an absolutely incredible endurance athlete.

There’s much to consider from the question of nature vs. nuture, through risk-taking, mental approach, relationships and handling fame.

Recommended for treadmill, stair-stepper, elliptical, indoor bike trainer and downtime.

Note: Kilian sometimes speaks in Catalan, sometimes English, other interviewees use French so there are subtitles. For this reason it’s recommended that if you watch this while running on a treadmill you have an appropriate-sized screen mounted at head height in front of you. If you use an ipad or phone resting on the treadmill dash you’ll be looking down to follow the subtitles which will likely be bad for your form.
